Reflection on Creative Commons

I liked what we did for the creative commons project. I Liked it because creative commons is a very useful website. You can use it in school and it has a lot of uses.

Waldorf School

This article was a very interesting article, i find it interesting that parents who are deeply involved in technology they would send there kids to a school were technology isn't present. I think that not having technology could have some positive aspects, like said they taught fractions with using food, this probably helped the kids learn fractions very well. Although not having computers in school could have some positive aspects, I believe having computers is more beneficial to students. I think that having computers would be more beneficial because after you leave this school for the rest of your life you are going to be using computers, and to go use a computer for the first time when your in 8th grade isn't the best idea. Overall the Waldorf schools strategy of teaching probably benefits the kids in some ways, but I think having computers would be a smarter choice of teaching the students.

Kids teaching themselves & integrating twitter into classrooms

Kids from one school go sick of learning the old way of just taking notes and listening to the teacher, so they decided to take action. What they did was they decided to teach themselves, using technology. I like the idea of this because the kids get to learn what they want to learn. This is such a positive thing because if the kids want to learn it they will get more in depth with the subjects and in turn they would learn more.

Yesterday in class we all had to get a twitter account. With this twitter we used a backchannel to talk about how the video was and our thoughts with the video. I liked doing this because it was a unique way to discuss ideas and our opinions.

Filter bubble

"It will be very hard for people to watch or consume something that has not in some sense been tailored for them"

This quote from the video really explained the whole video. The quote is saying that if you always  receive information that already relates to you in some way, that you will never learn new things. This is a negative things because then the information you learn is very limited to what you already know.

Chicago School, Also using iPads

Chicago is using iPads very similarly to how BHS is using them. They are using them to eventually get rid of textbooks which BHS is trying to do as well. In Chicago they are using the ipads by downloading apps that help them in class, just like at BHS.
